Beginners Sewing Machine Workshop @ THE ETHICAL ATELIER

Build in confidence with threading and using a domestic machine whilst being walked through different seam construction types you can make on a domestic sewing machine.

The seams we will learn are; normal running stitch seam, french seam, zig zag seam, double turned hem, understitch seam and ruffles!

No previous experience is required, beginners are very welcome. All materials and equipment are all provided. This workshop is suitable for both complete beginners and those with some hand-sewing experience.

This workshop will be taught by Megan, Megan is a textile teacher at Nottingham Trent University and her and Abigail use to work together at Paul Smith in the technical team!

Each student receives

- fabric scraps

- full use of equipment

- organic cotton threads

There is a maximum of six students per class.

Parking and ACCESSIBILITY

The venue is Museum of Making and is an access friendly site with wheelchair friendly toilets.

There is no parking on site but your parking ticket can be validated at the museum and discounted to £2.70. Parking info here.

Unfortunately only assistance dogs allowed.
