The Ethical Atelier- shop sustainable fashion brands, ethical fashion seminars, repair workshops and The Big Swap will be hosting a mini clothes swap!



- Shop 20+ carefully curated East Midlands Ethical fashion brands

- Hands-on repair workshop; Megan will be teaching Sashiko mending, pre-booking essential.

- Shop #preloved and vintage

- Q&A sessions with industry experts discussing sustainable and ethical fashion topics

- The Big Swap mini clothes swap, female, size inclusive- pre book separately.

Tickets are £4pp for pre-booked tickets using the button below, or £7pp on the day. Under 16’s go free and don’t need booking. Children are the responsibility of their supervising adult.


Online booking ends 24hrs before the event and the early bird discount will end. Tickets can be purchased on the day @ £7pp, children are free.

Drop 5 items of good quality clothes you would like to swap to Zoe and her team before 1200 and return at 1300 to find up 5 fabulous new swap items to take home!

A great way to prevent clothes going into landfill and keep the garments in wear for longer.

The Big Swap is a size inclusize swap! Swap tickets are £5pp plus booking fee and swap tickets are limited so pre-booking is essential link here.

Abigail Wastie- Organiser of The Ethical Atelier, passionate sustainable textile activist with industry experience in Luxury and Ethical fashion brands now teaching sustainable sewing courses in Derby. 

Sophie Benson- Sustainable fashion journalist and international publicist, with work highlighting issues of human rights within fashion manufacturing. Working with VOGUE, Dazzed, Drapers.

Lauren Mason - Over 15 years as Buyer in Fashion Industry disillusioned by the waste generated in these companies Lauren founded ReTribe Clothing a waste recycling fashion brand creating beautiful high performance products made from discarded tents, sleeping bags and deadstock materials.

Harriet Haiynes Young- Knitwear designer and Technical Developer currently working at Derbyshire Sunspel but has worked across sectors of the industry for licensers on behalf of key names on the high street; Topshop, Monsoon and Primark.

Parking and ACCESSIBILITY

The venue, Cleaver and Wake is access friendly with a lift and ramp available upon request- please email Abigail if we can do any thing extra to help your visit!

Unfortunately only assistance dogs allowed.

Free parking is available at the neighbouring Virgin gym, please note this is limited to 4 hour stay ONLY. If you stay over 4 hours you are liable to be fined by Virgin active gym car park, no permit needed. The nearest parking for all day is the Premier Inn.
