Beeswax wraps workshop @ Shop Zero Nottingham

Join Abigail for an evening workshop where you will learn how to make your own set of reusable beeswax food wraps.

During this workshop Abigail will guide you through the step by step process of how to make your own set of organic beeswax wraps.

Beeswax wraps are a fantastic alternate to clingfilm…since I started making mine 6 years ago we haven’t purchased a single roll of cling film!

These wraps are washable and reusable, beeswax is an incredible natural material for storing food as it is anti bacterial, anti fungal and breathable.

We will be making the wraps with printed cotton fabric, beeswax, jojoba oil and resin. Abigail supplys all materials and equipment so no need to bring anything other than good humour!

If you enjoy making the wraps and would like to make more Abigail will bring some materials you can purchase after the workshop.

  • Pre-booking is essential

  • £35 per person


Each attendee will recieve

- GOTS printed organic cotton fabric for 3 different sized wraps

- Beeswax and other secret ingredients to make the perfect wrap

- Hot drink


The shop is closed for customers when you arrive so if we dont see you please ring the bell!

Sarah has kindly offered all workshop customers a 10% discount off any purchases students make that evening so please feel free to have a browse after or before your workshop and bring your refillable containers!

Shop Zero's address is: at 42a Friar Lane, Nottingham NG1 6DQ, which is 2 minutes from Market Square tram stop and many local bus stops. We are also close to the train station which is about 15 minutes walk away.

Abigail is part of the core team organising this market as she is passionate about promoting quality ethical brands and making them more accessible to the Derby customer.

Sophie Benson - fashion journalist Sophie Benson’s publications include Dazed and Vogue, and her recently published book Sustainable Wardrobe equips her audience with all the knowledge and practical skills they need to curate a more considered wardrobe and fight for a fairer fashion industry. A background in human rights activism.

"How to create a more ethical supply chain?" session

Hosted in partnership with the Ethical Consumer magazine conferenc.

Are you a business looking to make a difference but not sure how?

Join this session to learn from pioneering SMBs transforming lives through their ethical supply chain and recruitment. The event is hybrid streamed on Linkedin and IRL at an eco sportswear factory in Derby. Booking is essential and spaces are limited.

The session will be a series of interviews, a tour of the host’s factory and a sampling of some of the delicious ethically manufactured products we will be hearing about. And space for listeners to ask questions and gain practical advice on the realities of recruiting and training individuals from marginalised communities.

Please note we will have a soft finish at 2:30 pm for those on the school run dash but anyone with more time is welcome to stay and chat with the speakers until 3pm.

It doesn’t matter how big or small your business is anyone curious is welcome.

As a way to thank all my amazing customers (who are more like friends) I am hosting a Summer Craft Party. It will be free to attend and no need to bring anything but please book if you want to come as spaces are limited.

Abigail’s Thank you craft party will involve kombucha, cake and a special creative project to make and take home!

It will be in Abigail’s garden in Allestree. so weather dependent.

There will be a surprise creative project to enjoy making whilst you are here, you don’t need to bring anything everything will be sustainably sourced by Abigail.

The party is a drop in so you dont need to attend the full 4 hours, your welcome to just come for an hour or 2.

Join Abigail for an evening workshop where you will learn how to make your own set of reusable beeswax food wraps.

Please note this is a private workshop for WI group coordinated by Vicky.

During this workshop taster Abigail will guide you through the step by step process of how to make your own reusable beeswax wrap.

Beeswax wraps are a fantastic alternate to clingfilm…since I started making mine several years ago we haven’t purchased a single roll of cling film!

Beeswax wraps are reusable, washable, anti bacterial, anti fungal and breathable- the eco way to keep your food fresher for longer.

We will be making the wraps with high quality printed cotton fabric, beeswax, jojoba oil and resin.

Each student will receive the materials to make their own beeswax wrap with Abigail’s guidance. At the end of the evening there will be opportunity to purchase one of Abigail’s beeswax wraps kit where you can make six beeswax wraps.

You don’t need to bring anything just yourselves and good humor!

Come for a relaxed evening getting creative learning how to darn your damaged knitwear whilst enjoying some delicious POINT SIX coffee and cake.

During this evening workshop Abigail will guide you through the step by step process of how to darn your holey knitwear! Please bring some damaged knitwear with you and we will start repairing them straight away!

We will be learning visible woven darning a really fun visual way to celebrate your handiwork on your garment.

All the materials will be provided and are of the highest quality and sustainably source. Every student will given some very special hand made darning tools to take home with them…info on this below!

The workshops is exclusively for the members of Shalford ‘BIG STITCH PROJECT‘

Join Abigail for a relaxed creative evening learning the foundation skills for freehand embroidery from the comfort of your own home.

During the 2 hour online workshop Abigail will show lots of examples of different free hand embroidery. Then she will explain how to use the tools from your Church. Once comfortable with the needle and threads Abigail will teach you the different stitches used in free hand embroidery using her free-hand embroidery guide book. practice sheets.

Once the stitches are mastered and confidence is grown each student will design and embroider their own beautiful simple free hand embroidery design.

Each student is posted their own free-hand embroidery guide book which includes practice stitch sheets.

Once comfortable with the needle and threads Abigail will teach you the different stitches used in free hand embroidery using her ‘beginners embroidery stitch sheets’.

During the 2 hour online workshop Abigail will show lots of examples of different free hand embroidery. Then she will explain how to use the tools included in your embroidery kit. Once comfortable with the needle and threads Abigail will teach you the different stitches used in free hand embroidery using her ‘beginners embroidery stitch sheets’.

Once stitches are mastered and confidence is grown each student will design and embroider their own beautiful simple free hand embroidery design.

Each student is posted their own mini embroidery kit. Details of the kit content are listed below.

During lockdown #2 Abigail is running a Wednesday night Craft- along at 8pm this evenings is eco candle making

Did you know that most candles on the high street contain many chemicals and are often produced with unsustainable ingredients. During this craft along Abigail will explain to you how you can make a chemical free christmas scented candled which ingredients work well and produce a smooth clean burn.

Materials needed

- clean empty glass jars (recipe based on 345ml container)

- a wick- either thick cotton strand or wooden wick SKU:WOO-WIC-13

- Sustainable wax; this could be coconut coconut wax or beeswax I am using organic wax SKU:BIO-CER-ORG-3

- microwave or hob and ban Marie

- scissors

- oils for scent. I am using Christmas spice SKU:BUL-FRA-11

Live craft-along- Christmas wreaths

During lockdown #2 Abigail is running a Wednesday night Craft- along at 8pm this evenings is fresh foliage wreath making

During this extended craft along Abigail will explain to you how you can make a fresh foliage wreath for your front door- it should stay fresh for 3-4 weeks giving your front door a lovely festive feel

Come for a relaxed workshop getting creative making your own set of beeswax wraps!

During this 2hour workshop Abigail will guide you through the step by step process of how to make your own set of organic beeswax wraps.

Beeswax wraps are a fantastic alternate to clingfilm…since I started making mine a few years ago my family of four haven’t touched a piece of cling film!

We will be making the wraps with printed cotton fabric, beeswax, jojoba oil and resin. Each student will leave with a set of 4 beeswax wraps they have made and all the knowledge to make more at home.

All materials are provided and no experience is necessary- just bring yourselves and good humor!

Join Abigail for a relaxed creative evening learning the foundation skills of tapestry weaving from the comfort of your own home.

During the 2 hour online workshop Abigail will show lots of examples of different tapestry weavings. Then Abigail will talk you through everything inside your tapestry kit and guide, details listed below.

Once familiar with all the materials and inspired by the pieces Abigail has shown you Abigail will guide you through how to make your own first tapestry weaving. All the techniques that Abigail teaches are included in the guide so this workshop acts as a great first step to your weaving journey.

During the workshop Abigail is happy to answer any textile related questions your child may have a talk them through any areas that interest them; embroidery, tapestry, fashion, ethics etc.
